TPC River Highlands’ award-winning golf course crescendos to its finishing stretch, holes 15 through 17, which play around a four-acre lake. Along with the layout’s imposing 18th hole, the collection is, according to 2008 Travelers Championship winner Stewart Cink, “four of the most exciting finishing holes in a group anywhere in the world.”

The drama of the finishing holes is enhanced by the course’s unique grass amphitheater mounding. From virtually any spot on the hills surrounding the three holes, thousands of spectators can view play on all three holes.

#15

The 296-yard par-4 15th is a classic risk/reward hole featuring a large pond that comes into play short and to the left of the green. A layup off the tee leaves a wedge into a small, multi-leveled green with narrow shelves in the corners, which makes getting a chip shot or even a long putt very tenuous.

#16

This strategic 175-yard par-3 with a false front runs parallel to #15, heading back over the pond. A raised green leaves little room for error, requiring accuracy and precision.

#17

One of the course’s most renowned holes, the 420-yard, par-4 17th hole is framed by the same pond up the right-hand side of the fairway. Starting with an elevated tee, the dogleg right works around the back side of the pond, putting water in play for both the drive and the approach shot. A massive grass hill frames the left side of the hole and wraps around the back of the two-tiered green. During the Travelers Championship, spectators have a clear view of #17 in the foreground and #15 and #16 across the beautiful pond.

#18

After holes 15-17, the mid-length18th may seem to provide relief when standing on the tee; however, this 444-yard par-4 requires a pinpoint approach to the narrow undulating green, guarded by bunkers on the right and a swale to the left – providing an exhilarating ending to a magnificent test of golf.
