Sponsorship Information
To our supporters...
We Americans have a deep respect for our fellow citizens who have, will and continue to serve in our armed forces. This feeling is most evident when our men and women make the call to duty during wartime. However, upon their return from the battle field, some are less fortunate than others. For those less fortunate, we are here to serve in a voluntary capacity in an effort to assist in some small way to help provide a better life for them and their families through a charitable cause. For those that made the ultimate sacrifice, we hope to be able to aid their families through the difficult times they must face without the presence of their loved one.
Birdies for the Brave is the PGA TOUR's primary vehicle for supporting the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Since 2005, the TOUR has joined with PGA TOUR players and corporate partners to raise millions of dollars for military homefront groups that directly serve military men and women lost or seriously injured in performance of their duty, through fundraising events at TPC clubs nationwide.
The 2009 'Birdies for the Brave' event held at TPC River Highlands raised nearly $56,000 for the six charities supported by the PGA TOUR Charities ... placing our venue near the top of all clubs in the United States hosting a Birdies for the Brave fundraiser. Additionally, our administrative expenses were reduced from last year's percentage of 7% to under 4%, emphasizing the importance of our dedicated committee, great volunteer staff, and all those people and organizations who donated their product and time. The economic situation has had an impact on all charities and thanks to our wonderful sponsors, we are very proud to have raised 14% more in 2009. We're looking toward a brighter 2010 and have set a goal to raise 15% more than last year. We will need everyone's help and continued support to accomplish this goal.
The Birdies for the Brave River Highlands 2010 Event will be held at TPC River Highlands on August 23rd. You can help us make this important event a great success with your sponsorship and donations. Net proceeds raised at TPC River Highlands will be distributed by PGA TOUR Charities to the following six beneficiaries:
